Hi again. Today we read the Dashboard, the screen that answers one question: how am I doing. Every number on it comes from the balances you typed, and we walk through each one.

Click the Dashboard button at the top of your workbook. The screen opens in a new tab, with your name at the top and, beside it, the last month you typed a balance for.

The first thing you see is four figures. What you own. What you owe. Your net worth, which is simply the first minus the second; if it is a negative number, that is normal for a lot of people at the start, and it is the number we are here to move. And Debt free in: about how long until your last debt is cleared.

Below them, one list, What is driving it: your assets and your debts together, biggest first. Every line is one row from your Accounts Directory.

Click Accounts in the list down the left, and scroll down. Every account you listed is there with its latest balance. If one looks stale, you skipped it on Monthly Balances; go back and type it. Then click Dashboard, at the top of the same list.

Scroll to the chart. It draws your net worth month by month from the balances you typed. One month is a dot; three months is a direction. This is the line you are watching all year.

If a number looks wrong, do not change it here. The screen only reads your workbook. Go back to Monthly Balances or the Accounts Directory, fix the cell, and the Dashboard changes the next time you open it.

Back on the Dashboard, under the chart, one line says where the chart comes from.

The Dashboard answers how am I doing. It does not answer where did my money go; that needs your transactions, and that is the full Money Mastery System edition. Knowing which question a screen answers saves you from looking for an answer it does not hold.

Debts and Payoff sit in the list down the left of every screen. They open the two screens that turn what you owe into a plan, and the next video walks them.

What you own, what you owe, and the gap between them, drawn month by month. That is your Dashboard. See you in the next one.
