Bills you can see coming

The Bill Tracking tab: every bill that comes each month with its due day and amount, ticked when paid, so nothing surprises you.

4 min Numbers Habits

Your workbook may look different. If there is no brown band of buttons along the top, use the Money Mastery menu in the menu bar above your workbook. The names are a little different there: Categorize is Categorize Transactions, Reports is Clarity AI & Reports, Dashboard is Open Dashboard, and Start Here is Getting Started.

Welcome back. Today the Bill Tracking tab, the list of what is due every month, so nothing surprises you.

Click the Bill Tracking tab at the bottom of your workbook..

Each row is one bill that comes every month. Click the first empty name cell and type the name. Rent. Press Tab.

Type the day of the month it is due, press Tab, type the usual amount, press Enter. Do the next: Electric. Car insurance.

The total at the bottom adds the amounts up, so you know what the month needs be.

When a bill is paid, click its box in the paid column and a tick appears. At a glance you see what is still coming.

On the first of the month, click each ticked box to clear it, and start again. Five minutes.

If a bill changes, click its amount and type the new one. The bank file still carries the real row, and that is what the reports use. This tab is your eyes, not your ledger.

A bill you can see coming is never a late fee. Late fees are not a money problem, they are a seeing problem, and this tab is how you see.

Sort the tab by the due day column and the month reads top to bottom in the order the bills arrive, which is the order your checking account needs the money in.

Name, day, amount, tick when paid. That is bill tracking. See you next time.
