Feature, Share with Accountant

Hand off clean books, with every category in place.

When your accountant needs your records, Money Mastery lets you send a finished report with your categories and totals already on it, as a share link, a Google Docs™ file or a CSV, without the rest of your workbook. You decide what they see, and report sharing stays separate from access to the workbook itself.

  • A finished report, with your categories and totals on it
  • Totals only, or every transaction, as you choose
  • Report sharing kept separate from workbook access

The screen itself

In this walkthrough you are seeing a finished report as your accountant receives it: the period it covers, total income and total expenses, the number of transactions and the net balance at the top, and below them every transaction with its date, account, description, category and amount.

How it works

From your books to your accountant, in four calm steps.

  1. Choose the report and the periodOpen Clarity AI and Reports from the menu, pick one of the ready reports or shape your own with the custom builder, and set the period you are sharing, whether that is a quarter, the year to date or a custom range.
  2. The system assembles the reportMoney Mastery draws your categorized transactions and the totals behind them into a finished report, with total income, total expenses and the net balance for the period set out at the top, so there is nothing left for you to format.
  3. Review before you shareYou see the finished report before anyone else does, so you can check that the totals match what you expect and that nothing is missing before the handoff.
  4. Share it the way that suits your accountantPublish the report and send your accountant the share link, or send it as a Google Docs™ file or a CSV. A share link shows totals and summaries unless you choose to include the transactions, and your workbook itself stays with you.
Why it’s different

Your accountant’s time is valuable, so give them a report they can use straight away.

A finished report arrives with every transaction already categorized and the totals already worked out, drawn from books where business and personal are already kept apart, which answers many of the questions an accountant would otherwise need to ask and saves time for both of you.

Finished, and ready to read

Your accountant receives a finished report with your categories and totals already in place, ready to review as it is, and you can send a CSV as well if they prefer to work with the figures in their own software.

Business and personal already separated

Questions about what was business and what was personal are often the first ones an accountant asks. Because you tag each transaction to the side it belongs on, split the purchases that were both, and give owner draws their own label, the report you send comes from books where that separation is already made.

You decide how much they see

A share link shows totals and summaries unless you choose to include the transactions, you can set a password on it, and every share link stops working after 90 days unless you choose otherwise. Report sharing is separate from access to your workbook, so a report never opens the rest of your file.

What the report includes

What your accountant receives, with nothing left to guess.

Categorized transaction list

Every transaction from the period you chose, with its date, the account it came from, its description, its category and its amount. On a share link, the transactions appear when you choose to include them.

Income and expense summary

Total income, total expenses, the number of transactions and the net balance for the period, set out at the top of the report so the overall picture is clear before anyone reads a single row.

A Profit and Loss when they need one

The reports include a Profit and Loss, read as gross income, gross expenses and what was left, and the custom builder is there for anything more specific your accountant asks for.

Common questions

Here is what you may want to know

What does my accountant receive?

A finished report from Money Mastery, with the totals for the period you chose and, if you include them, the transactions behind them with their categories. You can send it as a share link, a Google Docs™ file or a CSV, and it arrives without the rest of your workbook.

Can I choose the period the report covers?

Yes. You set the period for each report, whether that is a quarter, the full year or a custom date range, and the custom report builder lets you shape a report around what your accountant has asked for.

Can my accountant get in?

Yes. You can share the information your accountant, bookkeeper, or other trusted person needs. Report sharing and workbook access are separate, so you decide whether someone receives a specific report or broader access to the workbook.

Can I control what the share link shows?

Yes. A share link shows totals and summaries unless you choose to include the individual transactions for that report. You can also set a password on the link, every share link stops working 90 days after you create it unless you choose otherwise, and you can revoke a link at any time. Revoking stops new visits, though it cannot take back anything someone has already opened or saved.

How often should I share with my accountant?

Whenever your accountant asks. If they review your numbers each quarter, share a report each quarter, and if you work together at year end, a full-year report is ready as soon as your transactions for the year are categorized.

Ready when you are

Sharing with your accountant is included in every paid Money Mastery membership.

The memberships above Rise add more of Donna’s time rather than more of the system, and if you would like to begin without paying anything, La Soglia is free.
